The mother of ten-year-old child model Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau has closed down her daughter’s Facebook fan site after highly provocative images of her child ignited anger and disgust yesterday.
Veronika Loubry has been highly criticised for allowing her daughter to be sexualised and exploited by the fashion industry.
Closing her daughter’s Facebook fan site she left this message:
“Hey guys, I’m the mum of Thylane, somehtings going wrong at the moment with Thylane and bad people in the U.S.A. about pictures she made eight months ago for Vogue.
“Thylane doesn’t know about the buzz and I want to protect her from my deepest heart.
“She’s so young.
“So we are going to close this account for a while.
“I know that all of you are good people who like her so I send you a big kiss, thanks”, wrote
the 43-year-old French actress and TV presenter Veronika Loubry.
The child model at the core of the controversy appeared on the front cover of French Vogue’s January issue lying with her back on leopard skin cushions, wearing stiletto heels, a gold dress that was cut at the neck which revealed her bare chest and stomach, posing and pouting like a model is paid to do, only twice her age.
Veronika Loubry may have been forced to close her daughter’s Facebook account claiming that she only wants to protect Thylane because she is so young, but hundreds more images of youngster have appeared in far less desirable fashion campaigns than Vogue which is the most powerful and influential fashion magazine in the world.
“This is appalling to see adults exploiting children in this manner.
“We argue continually about child pornography, paedophilia and sexual abuse of children and here are photos of a ten-year-old child in a provocative manner”, slammed LA Times Bernice Dietrich Talyor.
