Budding actress Leighton Meester has been accused of violently beating her own mother and now wants to battle for custody of younger brother.

The 25-year-old, who plays stylish Blair Waldorf in hit US TV show Gossip Girl has found herself facing serious allegations that could catastrophically rock her acting career after her alleged attack on her mother after during a heated argument.

 

Leighton is said to have threwn mum Connie, 55, to the ground and proceeded to “hit her with a bottle”, according to court papers filed by mother last week.

 

The shock attack comes just days after the young actress attempted to sue her mother for misusing the £6,000 a month Leighton sends home to help care for her illness-plagued younger brother Alexander.

 

Despite the possibility of gaining a criminal record, diminishing her integrity in court, the actress is now reportedly fighting tooth and nail to gain custody for Alexander so she can look after him properly at her home in New York.

 

It is clear that Leighton and her mother have an unstable past. Last year referring to her mum she said: “Connie is her own person, a very eccentric, very individual.”
