The last time Charlotte Church hit the headlines the media was inundated by embarrassing snaps of her drunkenly stumbling around with knickers around her ankles baring her naked bottom.

Nearly a month on the feisty Welsh mum-of-two has dramatically cleaned up her act in hope to crack the US.

Charlotte, 25, and current boyfriend musician Jonathan Powell, 24, jetted stateside last week to attended some exciting meetings with powerful TV and music executives.

To prevent her drunken actions hitting Americas news stands, Charlottes US manager has put both her and boyfriend under ironclad instructions to behave and stay away from booze.

A close friend of the star, who proudly showed off her bold pink hair, revealed: “Charlotte and Jonathan have been told they must behave while in LA.

“Her American manager is really strict and doesn’t want her doing anything to jeopardize her chances of making it big over there.

“He’s keeping the pair away from any bad influences and trying to keep them in their rooms when they aren’t at meetings. The last thing he wants is more pictures of them drunk – that will not go down well in America!”

Last week the pair were hooled up in countless meetings discussing whether the singer/TV star has a lucrative future in the states.

“Charlotte sees her career moving forward in America,” continues the pal.

“She’s having talks with TV shows and is open to all opportunities.

It was reported that earlier this year Charlotte was tracked down by music mogul Simon Cowell and offered to become a judge on the infamous UK X Factor show.

Surprisingly she tuned down the opportunity of the life time, fearing that the show would be a big flop if  head judge Simon was not sat alongside side her on the judging panel.

However, the star expressed her interest in being part of the US X Factor judges, thinking it would be a fantastic platform to kick star her career stateside. But understanding that getting her foot though the US door that quickly was a tall order, especially after glamorous geordy lass Cheryl Cole couldn’t even make the cut, so Charl is happy to take her best offer.

With America’s media scene brimming with gorgeous stick thin women, Charlotte is keen to lose some weight to rival her fierce completion.

Perviously she slimmed down to a petite size eight for BBC 1′s show Over The rainbow but a year on a few of the pounds have crept back.

“If Charlotte gets a break on US TV she wants to lose weight. She’s already trying to become healthier by eating less junk food and cutting down on her smoking. Jonny’s quit and is encouraging her to stop to,” adds her pal.
