Eccentric Fashion designer Vivienne Westwood does not seem to agree with the public that future Queen Kate Middleton is not the style icon she is painted to be.
Kate who became the The Duchess of Cambridge after marrying Prince William – Was recently idolised by Vanity Fair readers for best dressed international woman, for her elegant outfits and poise.
But British designer Vivienne begs to disagree with the label.
‘It seems to me, that her image is “ordinary woman”,’ says Vivienne, 70. ‘Therefore, high street shopper.
‘And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from.
‘What not be exceptional? Your clothes communicate something about you.’
‘I think she’s got a problem with eye make-up,’ Vivienne tells The Sunday Times Magazine.
‘The sharp line around her
eyes make her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none.’
This will not be a shock to most that Vivienne’s words might cause offence. She recently said she did not know who actress and style icon Emma Watson was, despite the young star becoming one of the most talked about women in showbiz.
This obviously came as a surprise to many, who see the designer to be industry knowledgeable in her area of expertise.
