The former UK X Factor judge and solo singer Cheryl Cole is flying the British flag by landing herself a Hollywood film role that will be ‘right up her street’.

The Northern lass will make her first ever Hollywood screen debut against A-List acting stars Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz in What To Expect When You’re Expecting, a role where her character is styled on what the star does best in her working life, being an X-Factor talent judge.

Starring in a big-budget Hollywood film is just what the gorgeous solo singers needs right now after facing massive disappointments both in her working and private life.

Not only were her biggest hopes and dreams crushed after failing to crack the US by working as a judge on the US X Factor show and then being replaced on the UK X Factor show by N-Dubz talented female singer and rapper Tulisa Contostavlos,23.

But as she stepped out into the limelight revealing her stunning new blonde-bobbed hairstyle celebrating her 28th birthday in a posh bash in London on June 30, admitting to the world that she was reuniting with her love-rat and ex-hubby Chelsea footy ace Ashley Cole, (the very man she vowed never to forgive) her feet were once again unceremoniously kicked out from beneath her as fresh infdelity claims from several new women hit the headlines that that the Premiership Footballer and the self-professed” love of her life” was playing away again.

Since then, Cheryl Cole has kept a very low profile indeed, but news that she’s starring in what will be a Hollywood blockbuster will be music to her ears and a poke in the eye to all her critics that she hasn’t lost her sparkle after she impressing film bosses when she wowed them attending Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

“This is a bit of fun for Cheryl.

“She wil film the scenes imminently and is really looking forward to it.

“It doesn’t mean she suddenly wants to be an actress.

“It was just down to opportunity that has come up while she has been playing down time and she thought it would be great fun to take part in”, said a friend.

Budding Hollywood actress Cheryl Cole will be busy next month filming scenes for her cameo role in What To Do When You’re Expecting set to release in May 2012, which follows the lives of four couples as they prepare themselves for parenthood with Cameron Diaz playing the role of Jules who auditions in a talent show and finds herself  judged by former real life-X Factor judge Cheryl Cole.
