BBC1 EastEnders Delivers Fireworks Max and Tanya Face The MusicÂ

It’s no wonder that BBC1 EastEnders is the nations favourite  TV soap delivering drama and action every step of the way and tonight was no exception as the shows award winning scriptwriters launched their explosive fireworks, leading Max and Tanya to face the music over their illicit love-affair being finally exposed.

Poor Vanessa, or as Max so fondly calls her, V, she kept it together for as long as she could, the fairytale wedding she desperately wanted was so nearly hers, but when Max came home (after Tanya left him high and dry on what was supposed to be the night that he won her back) the ever-so-edgy OCD sufferer buried her head in the sand, ignored all the warning signs that were eminating from Max’s (red-rimmed) eyes until his tears fell.

Vanessa tried in vain to ignore the building tension by pretending that nothing was happening and force Max to get his prawn cocktail down his throat,  but for love-sick Max, it was just one mouthful too much.

After wavering slightly, the second-hand car dealer puckered up the courage and called time on their relationship, telling V that he simply didn’t love her or her obsessive cleaning  and lavish wedding plans anymore.

V knew this was coming and had done for a long time.

And the fireworks launched.

Vanessa shouts, screams, smashes dishes, and rushes across Albert Square in a fit of rage and slaps Tanya hard in the mouth calling her a s**g! and informs a rather vacant looking Greg about his wife’s dirty little affair with Max.

The irony is Max Branning has always loved Tanya and he always will, but that fact has never stopped him from hurting her time and time again.

But now the truth of their affair is out, it’s far from a happy ending, Max ends up losing everything including the woman he loves, but at least his daughter Lauren didn’t try to run him over and kill him this time, the teenager simply handed him a packed bag and told him to disappear forever (which he did straight over to Tanya whose life is in bit).

Greg’s gone off alone on what was supposed to be a surprise holiday for the both of them, stronger than we might all have expected by letting his wife know that despite hurting, he will get over her.

Following a few home truths between Tanya  and her alcoholic mother, Max arrives at the door completely deluded thinking that now their secret affair is out in the open they can just get on with building their bridges with Lauren Abi, little Oscar and be a family at long last.

But Tanya is bottling the truth up inside, and after Max presses her to tell him she doesn’t love him anymore and he’ll leave and never come back….

She does!

Exit Max Branning from Albert Square.

Tanya, under enormous pressure finally snaps this week and rips up an urgent letter from the hospital, but following a bust-up with her troubled daughter Lauren, (who’s sneaks drug-dealer Ryan into her bedroom), the terrified mum is unable to take anymore.

She visits Albert Square’s Doctor, Yusef, who tells her in no uncertain terms that she must undergo a Colopscopy and Biopsy immediately.

Tanya makes an appointment (secretly) and the results come in…….. EastEnders: BBC1 Mon. Tues. Thurs. Fri.
