It was definitely a case of being there at the wrong time for Frankie Sandford and Wayne Bridge on Sunday night, after a relaxing night of dancing turned into bloodshed.
After splitting up with long term boyfriend, McFlys Dougie Poynter, Frankie is enjoying life as footballer Wayne Bridge’s Wag.
The pair are often spotted at celebrity hot spot, Whisky Mist in London’s elite Mayfair, but despite the posh postcode, on Sunday night party-goers and onlookers witnessed a sight they would never forget.
A heated disagreement between two clubbers ended in horror. A man was reportedly slashed across the face and brutally stabbed in the neck with a broken glass bottle, violently left bleeding on the pavement outside the club.
The ruckus was so scary, the police were called within minuets and sealed off the clubs exits, leaving a cramped crowd of people, including The Saturdays Frankie Sandford, trapped inside.
‘At about 2am the club turned into a scene from a horror movie,’ a party-goer spills to the Daily Mirror.
‘People were screaming as a fight broke out. When the men got outside the fight got even more nasty.
‘Blood was gushing from one of the bloke’s face and neck – it looked like it was caused by a broken bottle.’
Frankie and Wayne were left shocked to the core by the incident. The pair had only ventured out for a simple night of laughs and a few drinks with pals, bandmate Rochelle Wiseman and Premier League footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips.
They knew that violent attacks happen often in London, but rarely in the up market areas. They have partied at exclusive club Whisky Mist many times before and have never seen so much as a back eye, let alone pools of crimson blood.
The man severely injured in Sundays antics is reported to be stable in hospital, but worryingly, the police are yet to capture that thug that put him there.
Despite the wild night, professional Frankie didn’t let the scene prevent her from doing her job and she was back at work bright and early monday morning.
Frankie, 22, took to twitter to declare: “On my way to radio1.Last night I wasn’t quite sure how I was gonna get up this morning but I’m feeling fresh…let’s see how long that lasts.”
