She may not stand up for women rights much, but ex glamour model Katie Price was socked just how little animal rights there are in Spain…

She’s hardly a feminist, but she is a keen animal lover and Kate Price, aka Jordan, was left disgusted after she attended a traditional Spanish bullfight with toy boy lover Leandro Penna last week.

Katie Price knew little of the brutal tradition before attending the packed arena and was left shocked by the sport.

Bullfighting, which sees groups of men scaring and violently spearing spikes into a petrified bull, to humiliate and weaken in it before its eventual public slaughter, has been long condemned by every animal rights group globally.

Despite having a major soft spot for most animals, especially horses, Katie was reluctant to past judgment on the cruel sport before seeing it for her own eyes, but after having experienced it, she was not shy to speak her mind…

‘I admit I was shocked by its brutality and I would not go again,’ she says.
‘But I can now say that with knowledge of the experience.’

Katie, 33, went to watch the gruesome display unfold with boyfriend Leandro, 26, and her potential inlaws Hector and Mercedes. Luckily the mum-of-three made the wise decision to leave children, Harvey, nine, Junior, six and Princess, four at home.

Bullfighting was not Katie’s first choice of activities, but spurred on by Leandro and his parents, the infamous TV personality felt forced to go.

‘Leo and I were invited and I did not want to offend, especially given Leo’s Latin origins,’ she tells The People.

Careful not to offend her beaus Latin roots, she covered her tracks saying: ‘I did not imagine it would be so shocking but it is part of Spanish culture. I don’t want to disrespect that.’
