He was a man with a big reptilian dream and he made it come true.
Shaun Foggett isn’t your everyday husband or father to three children, he’s also been obsessed with a dream of opening the UK’s first crocodile zoo for as long as he can remember.
But until that time he was prepared to share his family home on the outskirts of Oxford with 23 of the deadly creatures until he could make his dreams come true.
And low and behold Shaun Foggett did exactly that.
Crocodiles of the World located on Windrush Park Rd, Witney, Oxfordshire is now home to 50 crocodiles which represent 12 out of the 23 existing crocodilian species, making this intrepid reptile lover the proud keeper of the largest collection of Crocodiles in Britain and yep! they’re breeding fast.
The man who has dedicated his life to studying these deadly creatures in a bid to secure their conservation is currently featuring on the Channel 5 documentary ‘Croc Man’.
Shaun Foggett proudly announced to the world that from August 2011 his life-long dream of running a reptile park would be open every Sunday to the paying general public who will each be given the thrilling opportunity to find out everything there is to know about being in the shadow of a crocodile keeper and enjoy a thoroughly unique experience while being privately shown around each crocodile enclosure meeting the animals one-by-one.
“I think we naturally as human beings are fascinated and drawn to predatory animals. Crocodiles always get a bad rap because they’re not sweet and cuddly. I have always believed there will be a lot of people interested in crocodiles, but at a normal zoo there’s usually just one crocodile sat by themselves”, said the reptile enthusiast.
You can also join Croc Man Shaun Foggett tonight on Channel 5 @ 8pm revealing the determined mans efforts to open Britain’s first Crocodile Zoo.
