In the past six-years the number of people who have been found guilty of sex offences on children have risen dramatically by 60 per cent.
These sickening and shocking figures have been exposed through a Freedom of Information request stating that a Ministry of Justice reported that for England and Wales in 2005, 1,363 of these vile predators went on to be convicted of their sickening crimes whilst in 2010, this figure had risen to 2,135.
What every law abiding and decent member of society should bear in mind is that approximately 300 previous sexual abuse crimes may have been committed by each of these vile creatures before they get caught.
Although the shocking statistics do show a massive increase in convictions against child sex attackers and abusers, the Ministry of Justice believe that this is partly down to Government campaigns to in place that are helping to raise the awareness about depraved Paedophiles living and breathing in our society.
But many Child Protection agencies still believe the true number remains at large because allegations of child sex abuse is still such a huge unreported crime: “It is difficult to tell if these figures indicate an increase in the number of child sex offences being committed against children as it may be that more people including adults and children are becoming aware of abuse and are reporting cases to the police and other authorities.
“Nevertheless it is still a relatively small number of convictions considering child sex abuse is a big problem”, said Lisa Harker head of stragedy at the NSPCC.
