Fears for safety of British Newlyweds Ben and Caroline Davies Reported Missing In Canadian Mountains for three-Weeks
Fears are mounting for British newlyweds Ben and Caroline Davies who went camping in the Canadian Mountains for their honeymoon and have not been seen or heard from for three weeks.
Ben Davies, 37, and his new wife Caroline, 28, from Hertfordshire, 28, set out in high spirits on June 22 to explore the mountains and wilderness in a remote area of British Columbia which is noted for its high population of grizzly bears, but concerned relatives of the couple informed the authorities of their deep concerns when the newlyweds failed to get their scheduled flights back to the UK on July 4th.
A search for the missing couple has now been launched by The Royal Canadian Mounted Police:
“It’s a vast area and without a specific location or even a direction of travel it makes the search extremely difficult.
“Both are experienced outdoorsmen.
“We can’t explain why they haven’t contacted family.
“They may not know they have been reported missing”, said Sergeant Rob Vermeulen.
It is known that they borrowed a pick-up truck from a relative and had plans to meet up with another person that they had met on their trip, the mounted police are now investigating tips from witnesses who think they may have seen the missing couple.
