Viewers were glued to their seats in another powerful and emotional episode of EastEnders last night witnessing poor old Kat Moon struggling to come to the terms with the fact that her loving hubby Alfie doesn’t believe that he fathered the baby she’s just told him that she is expecting because guess wot? ‘Miracles don’t happen a second time’.

Feisty Kat is doing her East End best to ignore the fact that her precious Alfie thinks he’s infertile after undergoing tests in Spain but after dragging him out of the Queen Vic and straight in to the path of the Square’s evil Doctor Yusef, she manages to get him to go for tests to double check his fertility count.

Low and behold Alfie is thrilled to learn that it is his baby that Kat is carrying.

But shame on Alfie Moon for doubting his beloved Kat Slater’s fidelity so it’s no wonder that mum-to-be is in no mood to forgive him accusing her of cheating on him, but in true soap style, just when it looks like the Queen Vic’s hosts finally get their fairytale ending to a devastating year tragedy is waiting for them just around the corner.

After making it clear to her doubting hubby that she won’t forgive his suspicious mind Kat suffers agonizing cramps in her stomach and tells her Auntie Jean that she needs to get to the hospital quickly. Alfie walks in to try and have another go at apologising to her but is shocked instead to see her doubled over in pain. But pain or no pain, angry Kat brushes him off and insists that Mo accompanies her in the black cab to the medical center.

Alfie finally tracks his wife down but Kat’s desperately trying to keep her emotions in check and insists that he’s not going in with her to speak to the Doctor.

Once again, a terrified Kat is suffering all alone until she’s given the unbearable news that she’s lost her unborn baby.

When Kat breaks the heartbreaking news to Alfie he becomes completely distraught and riddled with guilt that he ever doubted his wife in the first place.

Will the tragic loss of their unborn baby be the final nail in the coffin of Kat and Alfie Moon’s relationship?
