Many of us feel it, but Elisabetta Canalis has admitted she is a total “doormat” went it comes to affairs of the heart.

Despite being a model with a face and figure most women would give up sacred chocolate bars for, she still has an issue with finding the perfect partner.

Elisabetta - who was left broken hearted when notorious womanizer and smooth talker George Clooney ditched her after two years of dating – claims she has a knack for falling for “cold and controlled men”.

With her 33rd birthday looming, the unlucky in the love star has now accepted that her longed for Prince Charming isn’t going to gallop along on his white steed and “save” her any time soo.

She acknowledged: “I’m a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to love I am a doormat,”

With only a trail of broken relationships and shattered hearts behind her, Elisabetta is keen to try a new tactic to bag her ideal fella.

“I’m looking for men who can give me security.

“I have always seen cold and controlled men as the right ones for me. You have to accept that Prince Charming who is coming to save you is not going to happen – it works against you.”

Like most delicate women, when a relationship abruptly ends they blamed themselves for the failure and consequently go in to ‘self destruct’ mode.

Elisabetta added in an interview with Italian magazine Chi: “At the end of the day I have always seen the end of my relationships as a personal failure. There is nothing ever pretty is saying goodbye.

“In the past I would self destruct when it came to love – I was immature, throwing myself into things but now times have changed, I want a relationship where you understand the other person.”

The Italian beauty – who has no problem turning heads, has not completely given up the search for a fairytale ending  just yet. She even hopes she may find love on the stage…

The model is set to appear on the upcoming series of ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ and while she struts her stuff in sparkly spandex, she will be sure to keep a watchful eye out for Mr Right.
