A British woman has been slammed by the police after she dialled emergency services on 999 requesting for officers to come and deal with a spider that she’d found in her kitchen as she was terrified and in desperate need of immediate assistance.
The highly distressed arachnaphobic woman from Coventry, UK, put in her SOS call to police at 8.40pm which unfortunately for her was one of the law enforcement officers most busiest times of the day and to top it off, along with her call came one from a man who wanted directions to the nearest ASDA supermarket.
“These people put lives at risk by taking call handlers away from genuine emergency calls”, slammed a spokesman for West Midlands Police.
Anyone who is unfortunate enough to suffer from the fear of spiders or Arachnophobia could well be in for a nerve wrecking rough deal in the coming month as it’s the creepy crawlies mating time and they won’t think twice to invade households hunting for a mate.
Arachnophobia is known to affect more than one in five people in varying degrees of spine tingling fear but luckily for the emergency services not all of the sufferers will be driven to dial 999 and ask police for assistance.
