The winners of the massive £161 million jackpot lotto prize have come forward to claim their life-changing prize money.
Married couple Colin and Chris Weir from Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland bought several lucky dip tickets for the draw and amazingly matched all five numbers and two lucky stars in last Friday’s EuroMillions jackpot lottery draw making them the nations latest instant multi-millionaires.
They decided to go public about their enormous good fortune today at a media conference hosted by the lottery operators Camelot in Falkirk.
New multi-millionaire Chris Weir revealed that on the night of the EuroMillions draw she checked the numbers of the lottery draw on the TV in the couple’s bedroom:
“I started circling the numbers I had matched but wasn’t doing very well.
“Then on the fifth line, all the circles seemed to join up”, but to add to the frustration of the Weir’s the lottery claim hot-line was closed leaving them to spend the rest of the night unable to sleep from excitement.
“I even had a glass of white wine which is something I normally only do at christmas”, added Chris.
Colin and Chris Weir can now join their fellow 2,400 lottery millionaires that have been created in the UK since it began 17 years ago and top the list of 14 fellow British EuroMillions winners that have  won the prize since it made its debut 2 years ago.
The Aryshire multi-millionaire couple have now made lotto history from their £161 million jacpot win by replacing Angela Kelly from East Kilbride who became Scotland’s biggest ever lotto winner in 2007 when she matched all her numbers and won a massive £35,425,411.80 in the EuroMillions jackpot draw.
Let’s hope that the UK’s lucky winning streak is back on tonight as millions more of the stuff that dreams are made of is up for grabs when the EuroMillions and Millionaire Raffle draw takes place later on this evening.
Good Luck To Everyone.
