Nail Biting Deal Or No Deal Show: Cancer Survivor Tegen Roberts from Cornwall Turns Down Bankers Offer of £77,000 Leaving Her With Two Reds.
The game show on Channel 4 is known as the dream factory and for one young cancer survivor it lived up to its full expectation.
Tegen Roberts from Cornwall has become Deal Or No Deal’s fourth ever winner of the £250,000 in a nail biting battle finale to reveal the contents of her last box, hailed as one of the most exciting games in the history of the show.
Tegen, 21, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphona last year and underwent several months of gruelling chemotherapy before getting the all clear just before her appearance on the dream making game show.
She’s now entered the Channel 4 Deal Or No Deal Hall of Fame after becoming the fourth ever lucky winner to scoop the top prize since it began in October 2005.
Viewers were hooked to her game when she opened with a perfect start eliminating the 1p box, but her chances looked less than hopeful as big red box numbers  began to go.
As luck would happen the game turned around in Tegen’s favour. The Cornish lass went on to be offered £33,000 by the banker until the plucky girl encouraged by her mum supporting her in the studio audience, turned down his final offer of £77,000 leaving two reds on the Deal or No Deal  game board.
Viewers were on the edge of their seats, even the DOND host Noel Edmond’s appeared nervous and  highly stressed about Tegen’s last two remianing boxes, £20,000 and £250,000.
And then the climatic moment when the dream factory made it all happen for Tegen Roberts:
“Being on Deal or No Deal was an amazing experience and I met a fantastic group of people.
“I can hardly remember anything from my game as it was all such a blur.
“I haven’t spent much money yet as I wanted to wait until people found out what I’d won. But I have bought myself a car”, said DOND’s new quarter of a millionaire.
