With hubby Brad Pitt busy shooting gory scenes for his new blockbuster World War Z, what better way to past the time than take an airplane out for a spin.

While many bored people take their car out for a cruise, thrill seeker actress Angelina Jolie likes to fly – and this time she took eldest son Maddox along for the adventure.

It is a known fact that when ever possible the hard core Hollywood actress performs her own death defying stunts, so getting behind the controls of a plane is quite tame really…

The Oscar nominee treated her ten-year-old son to a trip above the clouds with her, when she flew a small plane Blackbushe Airport in Surrey, Southern England.

Dressed in cool casual clothing and stylish black aviator sunglasses, Angelina, 36, certainly looked the part as she got in the cockpit with an instructor, while an eager Maddox rode in the back seat.

But don’t worry, Maddox and his much loved movie star mum were never in any danger… Angelina has held a well deserved pilot license since 2005 and regularly takes a plane out for a glide.

The Hollywood movie star and her adorable Bragelina brood -which also includes Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne- have currently set up shop in the UK, while Brad is filming.

In his absence, Angelina is busy entraining her ever expanding clan, by spoiling them rotten and treating them to fun days out.

On top of taking to the skies, Angelina took her children for a day out at Legoland theme park in Windsor, near London.

Despite loving family life and raising six children – with a hint of a possible seventh in the future – they don’t deny that is can be manic, so they always managed to schedule a bit of alone time.

Brad revealed: “We find our time. We carve out Mummy, Daddy time. It’s called a hotel. You got to get out of this house. You got to leave.”
