Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton and cage fighter Alex Reid, have announced they are currently trying for a baby via IVF treatment.

The unlikely pair have been together just 7 months, and feel the time is right to start their own family. but due to Chantelle past with eating disorders, she is unable to conceive a baby naturally.

Alex said: “I’ve thought about this long and hard and it’s what I really want. It’s not a decision you normally make with someone you’ve only known for seven months, but everything feels so right.”

Alex and Chantelle said they are prepared for the long and potential painful journey to start their own family together.

“I’ve had lots of scans and horrible, painful things done to me,” Chantelle said.

Alex in the past went through IVF treatment with ex wife Katie price, but the course was unsuccessful, which Alex said he was glad about.

Alex admitted: “I have to thank Katie because if I hadn’t met her, I wouldn’t have met Chantelle. All of those events, however bad, brought me here. Spending that time with Katie helped me realise what an amazing person Chantelle is.”

Many are questioning, is it too soon for Alex and Chantelle to start a family, following the history of short-term past relationships?
