With her sophisticated style setting trends on the catwalk, it is no wonder the editor-in-chief of fashion bible, Anna Wintour, is desperate to get our Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton to grace the cover of American Vogue.
It’s no secret that the most powerful and influential women in fashion is a fan of the 29-year-old royal newbie.
Kate was lurking in the background behind Prince William for quite some years, but since the royal engagement was announced and the pair got hitched in April, Kate has been catapulted into the media and fashion limelight.
You can’t deny that her gorgeous lacey wedding gown, designed by Sarah Burton, was a real show stopper, but it has not just been Kate’s bridal gown that has set global fashion trends.
The star’s royal refined look has also made big waves in the fashion industry, with many top designers getting inspired by the girl from a small country village.
However, the Duchess of Cambridge’s ‘traditional look’ has not pleased everyone…
The formidable straight talking Kelly Osbourne recently slated Kate for recycling her outfits.
On the Jay Leno she fumed: ‘Well I’m sorry but if I had that job I would only wear it once.
‘If I am going to be the future bl**dy Queen of England I’m going to wear that dress once because I’m giving up the rest of my life, all of my privacy, at least I can get a new dress every day.’
But if Anna Wintour likes your image, you must be doing something right!
Anna is apparently so taken by Kate and her signature look she has reportedly asked royal wedding photographer Mario Testino to help persuade Wills’ new wife to pose for the title.
‘She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover,’ a source spills to the New York Post.
‘But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen.
‘The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate.’
Whiles admittedly Anna, 61, has not always been a massive fan of Kate’s looks and earlier this month was caught snubbing the young royal saying she’s ‘following, not setting trends’.
It now seems however, that the leading US fashion director has taken a u-turn and presently has nothing but praise for the budding fashionista.
‘There’s nothing trashy or vulgar about Kate,’ Anna has reportedly said.
‘She dresses her age and never looks out of place.’
