Footballer love-rat Ashley Cole has finally confessed that he was the one to blame for his marriage split from Cheryl Cole.

The Chelsea player, 30, who was linked to at least five other woman when he was with the girls aloud singer, made the confession last week as the pair rekindled their romance in public.

Ashley said: ‘I have made mistakes and have got to live with it.’

While married to Cheryl, the star was said to have enjoyed a alcohol fulled fling with hairdresser Aimee Walton, 25, sent naked mobile-phone pictures to model Sonia Wild, 29, and slept with American Ann Corbitt, 29, Liverpool FC secretary Vicki Gough, 32, and glamour model Alexandra Taylor, 27.

After admitting his regrets last week, Ashley, who recently changed his Blackberry status to ‘I want my wife back’, then asked the public to concentrate on his football skills instead of his cheating ways.

He added: ‘I just wish people would judge me on my football – more than on a life that people don’t really know.

If i wanted to address every single thing in the papers, i’d lose my mind. It makes me crazy now when i hear things. But you’ve just got to deal with it.’
