They sent rumours flying that they were going to get hitched and have babies after their whirl wind romance, but instead Katie Price and Leandro Penna have SPLIT!

After Katie Price bounced into the arms of Argentinean toy boy lover Leandro Penna, 26, practically minuets after she announced her divorce to cage fighter Alex Reid, you don’t have to be a brain surgeon to predict this rebound relationship would not last.

But with Katie’s growing track record of marrying rebound fellsa (cough- Alex-cough) it is slightly surprising they never tied-the-knot before they went their separate ways.

The pair met at Elton John’s post-Oscars party in February and have been inseparable ever since, with Leandro always lurking in Katie’s shadow.

But after the recent rumours circulating that Leandro was beginning to get too big for his toy boy boots and reportedly started demanding Katie, 33, change her flirtatious ways and tone down, there is no wonder the feisty reality TV queen sent him packing.

To add salt to the wounds, after the taste of a lavish life at Katie’s expense it became clear that Leandro was hungry for fame and more money, a quality in a guy that Katie hates.
She put up with men hungry to steal the lime light with ex hubbies Peter Andre and Alex Reid and it is clear she didn’t want to add another to the list.

‘Leo has been fantastic but Katie felt she needed some time to herself and Leo was keen to focus on his career,’ reads a statement from her management.

Plus there was a monumental language barrier between them. Apparently the argentinian model could barely string two sentences together in English – and as they say ‘communication is key’ to a successful relationship.

So what’s the first thing Katie did when it was all over – weep into a pillow, watch Titanic and guzzle buckets of warm Ben and Jerry’s ice cream… no… go partying of course!

Keen to drown her sorrows the mum-of-three headed out to her first night on the tiles as a single girl and spent the night dancing away at hairdresser pal Gary Cockerill’s birthday do at Mahiki.

‘She remains on good terms with Leo, there has been no falling out and there is no bitterness,’ the statement continues.
‘They are talking daily and plan to meet and talk further soon.’
Oddly, Just days before the shock break-up, Leandro had been acting all smitten with his blond bombshell girlfriend and expressed his desire to be with Katie for the rest of his life.
‘She’s the woman I love and want to protect and care for,’ he blabbed to The Sun.
‘If tomorrow we marry, it’s because we feel right.’
