Drunken England Rugby Star Manu Tuilagi Arrested For Jumping off A Ferry Ship Yesterday

Drunken England Rubgy star Manu Tuilagi was arrested by police yesterday after he jumped off a ferry ship that he was on board as part of a day trip out with his defeated World Cup team-mates.

The 20-year-old lunged in to the water and swam to the ferry terminal just as the ship prepared to dock.

But the boozed-up rugby player was nabbed by the police for his fuel-driven stunt and spent an hour at a police station in Auckland, new Zealand explaining his actions.

Tuilagi was given a formal warning for his dare-devil actions before being handed over to his rather embarrassed bosses.

A Security guard said: “Tuilagi was just wearing shorts. You could tell he had been drinking. You could smell it on his breath. He didn’t seem off his head but he was definitely in high spirits. He was swimming to a little jetty. People were cheering him on from the ferry, but it was very dangerous because he could have been sucked into the ships engines.”

But his drunken stunt and run in with the New Zealand authorities only wet his whistle for more as he shrugged his huge shoulders off and went on to enjoy himself with his fellow team-mates in a local bar until the early hours.

In the cold light of day however, it was a different story when the Samoan-born centre appeared very red-faced and said: “I’m really sorry. It was a very silly thing to do. I apologise to everybody for any inconvenience caused.”

The sporting star was also fined £3,000 by England team bosses.
