Babies seem to be the newest accessories in Hollywood. Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba embraced their baby bumps like they were extra sensual curves that add more style and character to their looks. But not all women can go through pregnancy like these young celebrities and would rather adopt a child than to carry a child in their womb for nine months. The newest addition of celebrity moms to adopt a baby is Sex and the City star Kristin Davis.

For fans of Sex and the City, it is quite a surprise to know that Kristin Davis was inspired by her character as Charlotte York Goldenblatt, who adopted a baby in the series. Her fictional daughter was adopted from China and was named Lily. Charlotte is one of the tamer women in the titillating series and is the family-oriented one. The character was not far out from Davis’ real life disposition.

“This is something I have wanted for a very long time,” Kristin Davis told People “Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed.”
The 46 year old celebrity named her adopted daughter Gemma Rose Davis. ‘Rose’ is actually the name of her daughter. Davis is quite happy to have a new addition to the family. It seems like adopting a child is getting a trend in Hollywood with the likes of Angelina Jolie, Madonna and Denise Richards taking the lead. Davis did not make a headline by adopting a baby from the poorest parts of the world but decided to adopt her new angel domestically.
