There has been a lot of debate whether or not silicone breast implants are safe. It is always the discretion of the patient to go through the surgery and understand the risk of silicone in the body. Although there are many breast enhancing pills for sale in the market, breast surgery is still the quickest way on how to have bigger bosoms. With today’s modern technology breast implants are made safer for woman who wants to add more bump to their curves. Nanotechnology has new techniques and procedures in developing safer breast implants. This is a better alternative to the traditional silicone rubber for breasts, according to a review at WIREs Nanomedicine and Nanobiotechnology.
Patients who go through post-mastectomy need to go through some amount of breast reconstruction. Normally, the only material that is available for breast augmentation is silicone rubber. This device has an incredibly high rate of medical complications with as much as 20% to 30% failure rate. Some of the known risks of silicone breast implants are cancer, systematic diseases and other psychological problems.
According to Judit E. Puskas, author of the said review, the research resulted to the many prospective possibilities of using nanotechnology in developing safer breast implants in the near future. Nanotechnology scientists together with the authors of the review are now developing and creating nanostructure materials that may be used as an alternative to silicone rubber. “If successful, our material could be used for implants with drug delivery capabilities,” Puskas proudly states.
With this better alternative, breast implants with minimal complications will soon be made available to the body conscious woman and to people who medically needs breast augmentation.
