Beauty comes with age… and an award. Joan Collins, the much acclaimed British actress, was awarded the Lifetime Achiever Award from the Cosmetic Executive Women. CEW is one of the beauty industry’s dignified networking groups. The award was given October 12 at Jumeirah Carlton Tower and presented by Charles Worthington, a friend and hairstylist.

Collins is known for her effortless elegance, good grooming and high fashion state. She exudes a youthful glow despite her age. This 78 year old actress is made popular by the character of Alexis Carrington of the 80’s soap opera Dynasty. Collins revealed that she learned how to apply make up from the personal make up assistant of Marilyn Monroe. Entering the showbiz industry in the 50’s, she has grown into a full blown woman. Aside from her acting career, she also ventured into writing and published The Joan Collins Beauty Book in the year 1980. She also wrote several books then after with titles Feeling Great, The Art of Living Well: Looking Good, Feeling Great and Health, Youth & Happiness: My Secrets.

Collins is loved by the public because of his everyday practical tips on beauty. For this not so young celebrity, diet and the right eating habits is the key to being beautiful inside and out. If there is one beauty item Collins can’t live without, that a good tube of lipstick! Age is truly a just a number. She was caught jokingly saying, “It’s totally irrelevant unless, of course, you happen to be a bottle of wine”.
