It has recently come to light that the once baby faced child star Daniel Radcliffe, who played world famous wizard Harry Potter, struggled with an drinking problem.
Daniel Radcliffe, 21, who has spent over half his life wrapped up in the demanding film industry, has finally come clean about his rebellious side and admitted he used to binge on alcohol in a bid to fit in.
The film industry is plagued by the ‘curse of childhood stars’ with the likes of Drew Barrymore, Macaulay Culkin and Michael Jackson stirring royally off road to the track of self destruction. However it looks as though our favorite wizard has manged to duck the curse and has already become teetotal.
The young actor made the decision to give up drink for good after he realised he was relying on alcohol to have a good time.
Daniel admitted last week that he was “f**kd up totally” when he was drunk and now prefers to go home
and eat a bowl of sugar puffs after a day on set.
“I was so enamoured with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really wasn’t suited to me,” he maturely confessed.
“As much as i would love to be a person who goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and a nice time, that doesn’t work for me. I became reliant on it to enjoy stuff.”
Daniel, who blew an eye-watering £60,000 in one 12 hour binge in 2008, added: “There’s no shame in enjoying a quite life.”
