iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreakMany people around the world are waiting anxiously for the new iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak for the new Apple iOS5. So far, developers had been having a really hard time entering the new boot loader which Apple had installed on the iPhone 4s and on the iPad2 (under iOS 5).

A few minutes ago, MuscleNerd (one of the iPhone Dev Team leading developers) had posted a dramatic update on his Twitter account:

iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreakAlong with the screenshot shown at the head of our scoop this update presents proof that the team (or should I say MuscleNerd) managed to find a loop-hole in the new iOS 5 which allows them to break into the operation system and start working on a un-tethered jailbreak that will work on the iPhone 4S and on the iPad 2 Apple devices (please see prior updates to understand the different terms used for jailbreak solutions such as tethered and un-tethered).

Even though the technical jargon might not mean much to many Apple users, the real meaning of this announcement is that “there is hope” and that developers did find a way into the new iOS 5 for these devices.

I might take a few days or even weeks, we presume, to get a real first jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 but from now on it should just be a matter of time.

We will keep updating our readers as soon as there’s news.
