Lady Gaga made a statement at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards when she wore a meat dress.
Now, PETA activists from India are now asking the singer to wear a dress made of lettuce for her performance in the country.
The singer was asked to wear a lettuce dress to embrace vegetarianism during her visit in a star-studded unveiling of the country’s Formula 1 race.
In the letter written for the singer’s publicist, she was asked to be a vegetarian in her whole stay in India and wear a lettuce dressing in honor to India’s reverence to animals. It will promote the importance of not eating meat.
Sachin Bangera of PETA India said, “If she agrees, we will make her a dress entirely made of lettuce and held together by pins and threads. It will be a full length gown, and we will make sure it is sexy. The dress would be constructed leaf by leaf on the singer’s body that will take five to six hours to make. Someone will be on hand to spray the lettuce with flower so it does not wilt.
In an interview with Indian chat show host Simi Garewal, the pop star said that she would like to take some Indian cooking class to know more about their culture.
