In an interview on British Vogue Magazine for December 2011 issue, Gisele Bundchen talks about dinner time and her son’s thoughts on vegetables.
The Brazilian supermodel said that eating time is a sobering affair.
She admits that she is always praying before eating meat because she feels guilty about eating animals.
The model loves to eat steak and it is because she is Brazilian. She limits her intake of red meat once every two weeks.
She said that the experience is pretty tough going. She added, “What I find really helpful, you might think I’m crazy–is that before I eat any meat I always take one second of silence to put my hands over it and bless it and be grateful at least that it was a life.”
She is also happy to admit that her sons love veggies. She said, “My children, they are like white canvasses. When Benjamin eats broccoli, he think its dessert.”
Gisele is married to American footballer, Tom Brady. They had a 22-month-old son names Benjamin. She also has a 4-year-old son from a previous relationship named Jack.
Before her married life, she was always seen with cigarettes and red wine. She regularly eats a lot of steak.
Even though she had a change of lifestyle, a Purist one, she was not saved by some of the Hollywood’s critics and fans.
When she said that sunscreen is ‘poison’ because of the chemicals, cancer charities were up in arms.
She also claimed that ‘childbirth did not hurt the slightest’, it also angered fellow mothers.
But she told the British mag and said it did not pay attention to the controversies, and she definitely focuses on herself.
She said, “People think if you look after yourself you’re being selfish, you know. But what Tom taught me, and he is a living example of this – is that in order to be your best, you have to honour your own needs first. If I honour my needs first, I will be the best wife, the best mum, the best sister, the best friend. I have to come first, because then, everyone benefits.”
The December issue of Vogue is on sale this coming November 3.
