Apple Siri crackedApple’s Siri just got cracked. Siri is one of Apple’s greatest innovations in the latest iOS 5 release.
Basically it’s a voice command system that allows you to talk to your iPhone,iPod or iPad and “tell” them what you want them to do (i.e. “Play song!”).

Apple had invested a lot of time, money and attention in the new feature to make sure that Siri adds special value to iOS users (thus giving the Apple devices a special marketing edges).
Apple also ensured that the new Siri system will only work on the newer Apple mobile devices (i.e. iPhone 4S and iPad 2) and NOT on the older ones.

Since Siri had been announced, many developers and hackers worldwide had been working to get it cracked so that people can install it on other Apple devices (i.e. iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4, iPad etc).

Lately a French engineering firm called Applidium had reported that they managed to crack the Siri security protocol and “undo” the built-in limitation to the iPhone 4S.

They further clarified that this means people might be able to install Siri on other devices such as Android devices, Mac and Windows-based systems.

This is really exciting news! just imagine talking to your pc or having your Android phone do stuff by voice command.

No public “port” of Siri had been released yet for these devices but as we often see on the Apple world, this is now just a matter of time. We will keep tracking and update you as soon as there’s more news.
