Facebook admits having a porn problem Facebook now announced that they have a porn problem.

They confirmed on their sister website, ZDnet  that they suffered a “spam attack”

Facebook users got confused when while surfing, they are being linked to videos, images of pornography, acts of violence, self-mutilation, and bestiality.

After ZDNet provided the information, a Facebook spokesman said:

“Protecting the people who use Facebook from spam and malicious content is a top priority for us and we are always working to improve our systems and to isolate and remove material that violates our terms. We have recently experience an increase in reports and we are investigating and addressing the issue.”

Facebook reported that some users are lured to malicious java script in their browser URL bar. The company says they are doing everything they can to remove malicious Facebook accounts and pages.

Last Monday, Salman Rushdie’s account was forced shut down by Facebook administrators after they had reviewed that he breached the Facebook policy.

Salman then posted on twitter, saying, “Amazing. 2 days ago FB deactivated my page saying they did not believe it was me. I had to send a photo of my passport page. THEN..they said yes.. I was me..but insisted I use a name Ahmed which appears on my passport and which I have never use. NOW.. they have reactivated my page as ‘Ahmed Rushdie,’ in spite of the world knowing me as Salman. Morons. @MarkZuckerbergF? are you listening?

After his tweets, Facebook returned his name back to Salman Rushdie and apologized to the novelist.
