Famous NBA pro-player Derrick Rose from Chicago Bulls talks about his career now and his plans for the future.
He was asked if he would be in Chicago Bulls like Kobe Bryant who played for Los Angeles his entire career.
He said, “I would love to.”
The MVP from Chicago said he wants to stay but it depends to Bulls if they ever want to trade him someday.
“It’s all up to them… I would love to be here, be a Bull for the rest of my life, but it’s really not up to me.”
“For sure. There’s no other team I think I would rather be on the Chicago Bulls. Me living in the other city, no. Chicago is just a perfect place for me.”
Chicago Bulls seems happy to have Derrick as he has five more years to play for the team, earning $94 million.
Rose also shared that people are expecting a lot from him.
“They’re going to always expect high expectations from you. But that pushes you as a player. Knowing me, I push myself a lot, but I’m from Chicago. Like I always say, I want to give them something to brag about.”
“They’re appreciative. If we give them just one championship, they will accept it. We’ve been in a drought for a long time. So they will understand.”
Right now, he feels confident for the upcoming games.
“I’ve never felt this confident. Knowing that we have almost the same pieces here. We were close last year and we’re just trying to do better than last year.”
He described their game play.
“We play a more precise game. Where no matter what’s going on in this game, we’re consistent in one area and that’s defense. And I think that, with the guys that we have, and knowing what we went through, we don’t want to settle for anything less.”
Lastly, he admitted that Miami Heat beat the Bulls last season, and it is one of his motivation to aim higher.
“It hurt. But we always have another year. This year we got another chance for it. We are just happy that the season has started. And it gives us another run to go after it.”
