Bill O’ Brien has been chosen to be the Penn State’s new football coach
The members of the team seems happy that Bill is the new man.
They said they are excited for a ‘fresh start’ for everyone.
This Saturday is the scheduled formal introduction for Bill as the new head coach.
He has been the offensive coordinator of the NFL Patriots.
Matt McGinn from CNN said, “It should be exciting for everyone. The most important this is the players are happy.”
It is good news for everyone. It will help erase the things that happened last year.
Bill will replace Tom Bradley and Coach Joe Paterno.
It was a big controversy last year as Joe was fired by the school trustees when his former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was arrested and charged to sexually abuse young boys for 14 years and he did not report or do anything about it.
President Rodney A. Erickson said about the new coach, “The Penn State football program has a great legacy and has contributed enormously to our University community.”
“A program of this caliber requires a special kind of leader – a leader who will embrace that legacy and maintain the university’s commitment to excellence on the field and in the classroom.
“We have the leader in Coach O’ Brien, and I look forward to working with him on his new role.”
O’ Brien revealed in a statement that he will do his best to be honorable and be good example for everyone.
“I am thrilled to be the head coach of the Penn State Football program. I cannot tell you how excited I am to get started, meet the team, meet the football alumni, and meet all of the people that makes this university so special. As head coach of this head football team, it is my responsibility that this program represents the highest level of character, respect and everything that we do.”
