It was a good game for the Giants as they won against 49ers in a clinching 20-17 overtime victory.
Laurence Tynes was the one who made the field goal with seven minutes and six seconds extra period.
Giants co-owner, John Mara watched in disbelief and yelled, ‘Yes!’ and hugged his friends who are with him.
Steve Tich, the co-owner of Giants said, “A lot of people wrote us off in midseason. We did not write ourselves off. This is all for the Giants, all of our fans. And we are thrilled to be going to Indi.”
Their next game will be on Indianapolis and will play against New England at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The game was a challenge for both teams because of the rain.
The 49ers stopped the Giants twice. Williams fielded a punt on San Francisco 19 and had the ball stripped by Joaquin Williams. Denvin was able to recover the ball at the 24 but Tynes kicked and made the Giants the winner.
Williams said, “It was just one of those situations where I caught the ball, tried to head up field, tried to make a play, and it ended up for worst.”
“It was just one of those things. You hate to be the last guy that had the ball, to give it up that way in a fashion and to lose a game of this magnitude.”
Justin Smith, the 49ers defensive tackle said, “Life goes on. It’s not the end of the world. It’s hard to swallow, but they beat us.”
