It is very surprising when Simon Cowell announced that he axed Nicole Scherzinger as a judge and Steve Jones as a host for X Factor US.
But it is quite shocking that Paula Abdul also announced that she is also axed from the show.
In a statement today, Paula admitted that she will no longer be part of the show.
She said, “Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to the X Factor next season.”
“I have learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions oftentimes override personal considerations.
She added, “Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine and I have treasured my experience working this past season. I want nothing more than for the X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful.”
Simon and Paula Abdul has worked together as judges in American Idol for years.
It has been reported that Simon, due to slow ratings, plans to reboot the show.
When Paula was asked to judge in X Factor, it took her months to decide and negotiate with Simon.
That’s why it is very surprising to many on why he chose to ask Paula to leave the show.
Simon even said on an interview that Paula and her had a good chemistry and she is perfect for the show.
Cowell also released a statement today that he is thankful for Nicole, Steve and Paula to be part of the show.
In another interview, he admitted that when he was not satisfied with the rating, (12 million mark), he said that he got a little bit cocky and it made him put his ego ‘in check.’
Right now, only Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid are still the official hosts of the show.
Reports were out that Simon Cowell is desiring for Mariah Carey to be one of the judges this coming season.
