Naomi Watts is set to portray the late Princess Diana in her last two years.

She will star in Biopic Caught in life.

One of the things that will be shown is that her role in campaigning against landmines and her romance with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan and Dodi Fayed.

Naomi is British born.  Jessica Chastain actress from the movie, The Help, also auditioned from the role.

Eccosse films also plans to make a movie about the Princess and Keira Kneighley is said to be the one chosen to play her.

Naomi said, “It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role – Princess Diana was loved across the world, and I look forward for rising the challenge of playing her on-screen.”

German Director Oliver Hiercshbiegel said that he is delighted to have Naomi as Princess Diana. He added that Naomi has the warmth, humanity and empathy of such a global icon as her.

The Screenplay will be by Libertine playright Stephen Jeffreys.

The movie will also show that Princess Diana was happy as a campaigner and a humanitarian.

Naomi was born in Kent, but went to live in Australia when she was 14 years old.

Currently, she is in New York with her husband-actor Liv Schreiber and has a son together.
