First her engagement ring and now her favourite pair of earrings – Prince William passes on his mothers dazzling jewels to new wife Kate Middleton.

 

Earlier this week the lovely Duchess of Cambridge was spotted wearing her late mother-in-laws precious sapphire gems during the royal couples official visit to Canada and America.

Kate, 29, had Princess Diana’s iconic diamond studs remodeled into drop earrings and was caught wearing them for the first time at Andy Murray’s against defending champion Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon last month.

The priceless earrings were thought to be amongst Diana’s most prized possessions and now they have a chance to sparkle on another once more. Before her tragic death August 31, 1997, the Princess of Wales was spotted wearing the timeless jewelry to dozens of events during the 1980s and 1990s.

A courtier told a national newspaper: ‘Now they’re married William wanted her to have some of his mother’s favourite pieces.’

This is not the first time Kate has been seen wearing the unforgettable Princess Diana’s jewelry. As tradition goes, William proposed with his mothers engagement ring and is now surprising his newly wedded wife with more family heirlooms.

Since being catapulted in the the lime light after being officially welcomed into the Royal family, Kate has swiftly become a fashion icon, as was Diana.

The queen-to-be is now finding her style compared to Williams mother where ever she goes.

Her outfit was recently commented on when she wore a similar outfit to that of Princess Diana’s when she was visiting Canada by sport ting an unusual maple leaf hat.

Both admirable princess donned  the colours of the Canadian flag by wearing white dresses and vibrant red hats, except Princess Diana went slightly further with a bold matching red scarf.

With both the women being gentle kind natures natural beauties crowds across the globe have been eager to make comparisons on the royal tour.

Inevitably Princess Diana stole the show whilst she and her new husband Prince Charles made similar tour in 1983. She was the main attractions with thousands of local people waving flags of greeting and shouting ‘We want Di!”

Following in the same footsteps, Kate is also a real crowd pleaser and her royal wardrobe has rapidly become the main topics of discussion.

Since arriving back on him soil, the young couple have been deciding on a permanent home to set  down some roots. Word has it that the front runner is a luxury apartment 1a in Kensington Palace, a modest 19-room lavish suite appropriately fit for a king. The exclusive apartment was once home to the late Princess Margaret.

It has been reports that the newlyweds have also considers apartments 8 and 9, the former martial home of Charles and Diana and the space a young William grew up. However, understandably Kate it swayed to feel slightly uncomfortable about that arrangement.

‘They have been to look around Margaret’s apartment and like it very much,’ reveals an insider.
