How to transfer your license

First and foremost, you'll need to have held your current license for at least 12 months. If you haven't been driving for quite that long, you may still be able to transfer your license if you can provide proof of previous driving experience from another country.

Secondly, you'll need to complete a driver's education course approved by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Once you've successfully completed the course, you'll be issued with a certificate which needs to be presented when applying for the transfer.

And finally, you'll need to pass a road test in order to demonstrate your competence behind the wheel. Once you've done all of that, you can apply for the license transfer at any RTO office.
